This Week In The BIG EAST Radio Show, distributed by Westwood One, returns for 2021, its seventh season as the official podcast of BIG EAST basketball. The second episode of the season welcomes Creighton head coach Greg McDermott (@cucoachmac), Xavier sophomore forward Zach Freemantle (@zachfreemantle) and Rob Dauster (@RobDauster), co-host of the Field of 68 podcast.

 This week the #TWITBE BIG EAST Spotlight shines on Freemantle (5:47), a sophomore with the Musketeers. Freemantle discusses his growth as a player and the expectations of the Xavier squad this year. The BIG EAST Focus zeroes in McDermott (19:58). The head coach of the Bluejays highlights Creighton’s hot start to the 20-21 season. Dauster, author of “The Rebound,” gives this week’s National Perspective (29:24). He gives his thoughts on the BIG EAST’s standing in among the conferences.

The returning hosts for This Week In The BIG EAST (#TWITBE) are John Rooke, a longtime BIG EAST play-by-play voice, and Kevin McNamara, BIG EAST reporter, columnist and author. Rooke and McNamara give a comprehensive look at the teams, coaches, players and storied tradition of the top basketball conference in America in each episode.

 A new segment this year, Rooke and McNamara relive “A blast from the past.” This week features memories and highlights surrounding Connecticut legend Donny Marshall. 

The episode’s “Who’s Hot” segment features audio clips from some recent big performances around the league and a recap of the league’s weekly honors. “Who’s Got Next?” takes a look at the upcoming schedule, highlighting the big matchups.
